Decalogue Five

Piotr (Krzysztof Globisz) is a young lawyer who has just passed his bar exam. As a public defender, he is appointed to represent Jacek (Mirosław Baka), a young man accused of brutally murdering a taxi driver. Piotr attempts to penetrate his client’s thoughts in order to mount a successful defense. His efforts end in failure: Jacek is sentenced to death. At their last meeting, Jacek gives Piotr a photograph of his younger sister, who died several years earlier, and asks him to give it to his mother.
