Decalogue Four

Ania (Adrianna Biedrzyńska), a drama student, discovers a sealed envelope containing a letter written by her mother on her death bed. She suspects that it reveals that Michał (Janusz Gajos), whom she had always considered her father, is not her real dad. Instead of opening the letter, she writes a new one to herself in her mother’s handwriting, revealing the supposed family secret. She accuses her father of dishonesty. Their existing relationship is put on hold as hidden longings and carefully suppressed desires emerge.
